MANCHESTER CITY CHARGED WITH MISCONDUCT BY FA FOLLOWING LIVERPOOL DRAW

Manchester City have been charged by the Football Association after failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

Various players were seen to surround referee Michael Oliver after he awarded the visitors a penalty just after half-time.

“It is alleged that in or around the 50th minute of the fixture, the club failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion,” said an FA statement.

City were fined £35,000 by the FA in December after failing to control their players during an ill-tempered 3-1 defeat to Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Taking after a goalless first-half at the Etihad, James Milner place Liverpool in front from the penalty spot after Roberto Firmino went down under the challenge of Gael Clichy.

Sergio Aguero brought City level with 21 minutes remaining, yet neither side could muster a winner and both had to settle for a point.
