Barron Trump to attend St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac

Barron Trump will attend St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, a prep school in Potomac, Maryland, this fall.

“We are very excited for our son to attend St. Andrew’s Episcopal School,” first lady Melania Trump said in a statement Monday. “It is known for its diverse community and commitment to academic excellence.”

President Donald Trump’s wife and 11-year-old son have mostly resided in Trump Tower in New York since the president’s inauguration as Barron finishes the school year there. Melania and Barron Trump are expected to relocate to the White House this summer.

Melania Trump said St. Andrew’s mission — “to know and inspire each child in an inclusive community dedicated to exceptional teaching, learning, and service” — appealed to the Trumps and added that they “look forward to the coming school years at St. Andrew’s.”

Shortly after the president’s inauguration, the White House basically reminded the media that Barron is off limits, like children of past presidents.

“It is a longstanding tradition that the children of Presidents are afforded the opportunity to grow up outside of the political spotlight,” the White House said in a Jan. 24 statement. “The White House fully expects this tradition to continue. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.”

Although the president has been without his wife and youngest son for most of his presidency, he hasn’t been far from all of his family. While sons Eric and Donald Jr. have taken over the Trump Organization, daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner work in the White House as an assistant to the president and senior adviser, respectively. And they will be joined in Washington this fall by Tiffany Trump, whom POLITICO reported last week will attend Georgetown Law School.
