There were a lot of pretty amazing moments during President Trump’s first State of the Union address.

But amidst all the incredible stories of heroism and the powerful new policies announced, there was one moment that really stood out.

About midway into his speech, Trump started talking about illegal immigration and the tremendous harm it does to this country.

And then, he uttered one line that absolutely brought down the house:

“My duty, and the sacred duty of every elected official in this chamber, is to defend Americans, to protect their safety, their families, their communities, and their right to the American dream. Because Americans are Dreamers too.

While there were plenty of standing ovations during the course of the night, none were nearly as boisterous as the one Trump received after that remark.

With just five little words, Trump effectively reframed the debate over illegal immigration, and that has got to have Democrats worried.
